How to Play Craps

I have put together a short tutorial to help you learn how to play craps. It looks a little complicated the first time you see someone playcraps, but it really is a pretty simple game. At the beginning craps dice roll, the shooter is rolling a "come out" roll. For this roll, you can place a pass line bet or a don't pass bet. On a pass line bet, if the come out roll is a 7 or 11, you win even money on the bet. On a don't pass bet, you win if the roll is a 2 or a 3. In some casinos you also win a don't pass bet if a 12 is rolled.

In the vent the first roll is a 4, 5, 6, 8, 9 or 10, a point is established, meaning neither of the bets has been won yet. After a point is established, if the shooter rolls the point again before rolling a 7, the pass line bet wins. If the shooter rolls a 7 before the point, the don't pass bet wins.Play Craps

You can also place odds bets after the come out roll. This bet is placed right behind your pass line or don't pass bet. An odds bet wins if the point is rolled again before a 7. The advantage of the odds bets are they get paid out at even house odds, creating a craps bet with no house edge. The payout on the odds for a points of 6 and 8 is 6 to 5, points of 5 and 9 is 3 to 2 and 4 and 10 is 2 to 1.

The bets listed above are the ones to concentrate on to give the craps casino the smallest house edge. There are many additional craps bets available, and you can learn more about them and the craps odds by following the craps odds link. But once again, I do not recommend ever placing a bet at the craps table other than those discussed above. It just gives the casino too high of an advantage.
